First stage of making the car faster around a race track was to put the Soarer on a diet - the UZZ31 left the factory weighing about 1650kgs and we have got it down to about 1400kgs without replacing any steel panels or glass.
The car was completely gutted of anything of significant weight that was not required for street/track duties.
Out went door electrics/looms, electric seats, cruise control, electric mirrors, heavy plush carpet, all boot trims/fixtures, all heater/fan/AC components, EMV/SatNav ECU/CD Stacker/Amps/Speakers/Subwoofer all factory AV systems, all sub wiring looms etc
The electric tilt/telescopic memory steering column was replaced with a much lighter JZZ30 manually operated column assembly.
The factory steering wheel was replaced with a lighter and sportier JZA70R Momo factory boss kit and wheel.
A few kgs of dry ice and out came all the sound deadener from the interior floor/tunnel, firewall and boot.
In went a bolt on sporty and lighter JZA80 Supra seats and Ganador mirrors.
The battery was relocated from the engine bay to the boot.
