The Early Days

This Soarer is the culmination of an effort between 3 mates to put their efforts and resources together to put together and campaign a cheap, reliable track car that could be driven to a trackday, driven on the track all day and then driven home.
The three mates being Jeff, Neil and Manny who became acquainted over the last 10 years on the ALSC and other Soarer forums.
We are all Soarer owners and having run our street Soarers at various racetracks, we knew very well how competent a Soarer would be as a dedicated track car.
The fact that we all had a stock pile of oem and aftermarket Soarer parts made the choice easy.
Jeff had been stripping written off Soarers on the side to supplement his sales of imported Soarer parts and in 2004 came across a UZZ31 that was a financial writeoff which he stripped down to shell and running gear.
It didn't take much discussion to agree to repair the front end hit and use this shell as the basis of the track car.
Being 300 kms away from us and being sidetracked with his blown UZZ31 Soarer cruiser/track car, blown 1UZ Silvia drag car and numerous other project cars in his workshop ( Rush Imports in Queanbean http://www.rushimports.com.au ), Neil gave us his blessing to continue ourselves without his further direct involvement but he nonetheless continued to provide assistance and advice when sought.
We set about continuing to collect parts and repairing the substantial front end damage throughout 2005, 2006 and 2007 and by 2008 we finally re registered the car.
