Suspension

Next on our plan to improve track times was suitable suspension.
The cushy airbag suspension and soft factory roll bars were never going to allow us to have some serious fun on the track.
In went a set of suitably rebuilt/revalved height and bump/rebound adjustable TEIN HA coilovers fitted with 14kg/mm front and 9 kg/mm rear springs.
Next a Whiteline adjustable sway bar was fitted to the front and a firmer JZA80 Supra sway bar fitted to the rear.
Flexible nolathane sway bar links were swapped for rosejoint items.
Up front a later model Soarer/JZA80 Supra secondary crossmember was fitted which bolts firmly to the primary front crossmember and eliminates flex between the two parts.
On the rear, alloy collars were fitted to the rear crossmember mounts to minimise movement of the rear suspension assembly.
Front lower control arms bushes were changed from soft OEM rubber to firm Nolathane items as were the steering rack mounts.
A front strut brace was fitted to provide additional structural stiffness.
Finally, adjustable JIC front upper control arms were fitted to allow more camber to be dialled in.
The transformation was instant - from a comfy, wallowing cruiser to a point and shoot steerer like it was on rails.
